Southmoor Academy is a secondary school in Sunderland in the North East. The school's director of technology, Tom Malone, wanted to procure a true cloud-hosted cashless catering system that met the school's high expectations.
“The support we received from Pebble throughout the onboarding process (and since!) has been fantastic. Like with any new install you get a few hiccups once the install team leaves site, but the support we received was fantastic. We were after a cashless system that was also mobile and Pebble gave us just that. The tills are mobile, so when a till is needed elsewhere in the school it’s an easy transition.
The reason we decided on Pebble was the sleek demonstration and the abundance of knowledge when quizzed over any catering subject. No questions went unanswered.
One of the main bonus’ is that it takes the pressure off our servers and brings the whole process in to the cloud. This of course increases the speed of the service at really busy times. One of our main challenges was that with the old system, the server databases were quite large and struggled with demand – so not having that reliance simply makes for a better experience for the kitchen staff, the student and IT.”
